I'm New Here
If this is your first visit to FBC, we are grateful to have you with us this morning. It is our hope that you experience the love of Christ and His presence during our worship.
OUR CHURCH FAMILY”
Visiting a church for the first time can be a great adventure and at the same time be a bit un-nerving. “Will I be accepted… I haven’t read the Bible… I’m not even sure God exists”. You do not need to know the answers to life’s questions, but rather be open to hearing God’s word. Wherever you are in your journey through life, we are offering to accompany you with acceptance and without judgment. We believe He will speak to you, offering comfort and grace that gives meaning and value to life’s questions and mysteries.
Guests often have questions. Please contact us, if you like. Here are a few topics that may be of special interest:
What Time Is Church?
Sunday Worship Service starts at 10:15 a.m.
Sunday School for Children and Adults: 9:00 a.m
How Do I Get There?
The First Baptist Church sits at the intersection of South 1st Street and East 1st Avenue in Indianola, Iowa. We are one block East and one block South of the town square. There is on-site parking that is supplemented by a parking area across the street. It is easy to find us and comfortable when you do. Hope to see you soon!
What Happens During a Service?
Morning Worship includes:
Children are dismissed for Children’s Church before the Pastor’s Message.
A staffed nursery is available.
The church is completely handicapped accessible.
Hearing assistance devices are available at the sound table in the back of the Sanctuary.
What Should I Wear?
Actually, what you wear to church doesn’t matter so much. We are far more interested in who you are than what you wear. As a general rule we believe you should be comfortable. Some people like to dress up in their “Sunday best” and others wear jeans and sneakers. Not a whole lot of attention is paid to this issue. Join us, we’ll just be glad to see you.
What’s Available For My Children?
We understand that an adult service can get boring for younger children. That’s why they may attend Children’s Church while the Pastor is giving his message. Here, young ones can learn through Bible stories and videos, as well as related crafts and games. They will come to know Jesus Christ and have fun in the process! Children can also hear a special message as part of each Sunday’s regular service. For your youngest children a fully staffed nursery is available. We take special care to provide a safe and caring environment, with a state of the art parental alert system in place.
Will I Be Asked for Money?
As do most churches, we appreciate your gifts, but they are by no means a requirement. The First Baptist Church is here for you without regard for your ability to contribute.
